I love this movie and have seen it many times, but I’m not sure rewatching it makes it all that much different. Do you have any examples to share?

Your lungs have a best buy date. Good luck! Oh, and your new pancreas? Fuggetaboutit.

All these years, I’ve been expecting China to kick off World War III, and here we are now with it looking like it’ll be Russia or Israel. That’s not to say China’s not still in the running, but how things have changed.

I am, but I probably shouldn’t be. My organs are…not in the best shape.

I prefer to live in the middle of nowhere(ish) aside from the conservative culture which inevitably comes with it. I also like walkable city areas. I completely hate anything in between.

I don’t know if I could ever deal with (American) upstairs neighbors again in my life. The percentage of inconsiderate people meeting the percentage of multi-family housing with basically no soundproofing is a recipe for sleeplessness and rage.

Yeah, that’s why I made fun of you suggesting I do my own research.

You have completely misunderstood this entire conversation. I just said that medications are drugs. Are you high? Is that why you can’t figure out basic statements?

If so, that’s fine, you’re welcome to be high, but you might want to stop commenting on the internet.

The article states that it has already happened in China and Korea, but not previously in Japan.

Wow, did you miss the point. Yes, I was pointing out that ephedrine–a medication–is a drug.

And no, it is not as safe as you make it out to be. I have both “done my research” and spoken with a couple of physicians about it.

I had problems with my Pixel 5 crashing all the damn time but haven’t had any issues with the 6 (or when I had the 4).

This is a drug, which OP said they’re avoiding. It’s also potentially dangerous.

I’ve heard of the “runners’ high”, but even as someone who used to be very athletic, all I ever got was the “runners’ ‘please fucking kill me right now so I never have to do that again’”.

Defending totalitarian regimes and trying to get Biden to lose the upcoming election.

They are different fruits in English.

As someone in the tech community who grows and uses yuzu, and who also subscribes to gardening communities, I’ll be kind of relieved to see the name only used for fruit again.

I just finished Roadside Picnic. I think that would fit your list pretty well. It’s also a quick, short read so could be a good place to start.

Thank you. That’s what I’m trying to do. She’s been very spoiled.

“What’s particularly striking is the sluggishness in consumption and capital expenditure that are key pillars of domestic demand,” said Yoshiki Shinke, senior executive economist at Dai-ichi Life Research Institute.

I can’t imagine how anyone is surprised by this. Japanese goods have increased in price (inflation) for the first time in an extremely long time. As in, for the first time within many people’s memories. Of course they’re suddenly going to be more concerned about spending.

My almost-two-year-old dog is expected to die very suddenly from cancer at any time. She’s the sweetest thing. I’ve even felt guilty that I’ve thought she’s going to be a better dog (for me) than my older dog is, who is wonderful. But she’ll never have the chance.

Meanwhile, my husband can’t deal with the occasional accident her cancer is causing and is threatening not to get another dog, knowing full well that planning for the next dog is what keeps me going because my life is ruled by chronic health problems and I live for my dogs.

Edit: I guess the more succinct answer would be: Have you ever cried so hard you started to vomit?

I’m just pointing out that whoever posted this decided intentionally to leave the Houthi part out of the headline.

Maybe not for you, but for some of us, we would help to look into Buddhism and its Four Noble Truths.

Very simplistic tl;dr is that

  1. All life involves suffering.
  2. We suffer because we want things to be other than the way they are.
  3. We can become free from suffering if we no longer want things to be other than the way they are.
  4. The Eightfold Path can lead one to reach 3.

I agree, but I’m not going to hold my breath over that happening.

I haven’t been, but I’ve had a few friends from Toronto and they’ve all loved it.

That’s what they say, but they have targeted the ships of countries which are not involved in the conflict.

Your comment makes no sense in the context of it being a reply to mine. I’m not saying to protest in favor of anyone–just against the ones who are bringing violence to their land.

They should be protesting against the Houthis for causing this by attacking merchant vessels uninvolved in the regional conflicts.

Indian food is very popular in the US and I have never heard anybody rag on it ever. Don’t know what kind of media you must be consuming.

It makes sense–they are right next to Ukraine and in danger as much as somewhere like Lithuania is. NATO forces should be securing territories in the east, as they have begun to do.
